Therapy with AOT

Schematic Schedule of the autologous osteoblast transplantation

Removal of bone tissue
Under local anesthesia the physician removes a small piece of bone material from the jaw bone. Additionally, a blood sample is taken.

Propagation of osteoblasts
co.don® AG’s highly specialized cell culture laboratories provide the basis for patient-own bone cell isolation and propagation. During propagation of bone cells the only supplement to the cell culture medium is the patient-own blood serum. About three to four weeks later the osteoblast transplant is finished.

Transplantation of the autologous osteoblast transplant
During jaw bone reconstruction, the transplant is combined with a scaffold material and transplanted into the prepared region of the jaw bone.

Biological regeneration of bone
Patient-own, transplanted osteoblasts stimulate bone regeneration and form new bone tissue within the jaw bone defect. This bone tissue integrates actively into the surrounding healthy bone. Over time, it becomes pressure-stable and loadable, and is comparable to the surrounding bone tissue.

Rehabilitation
The postoperative treatment is performed according to general guidelines for rehabilitation after dental-surgical interventions.
